Stepping Out: Bexhill in 1924
14 July @ 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm
This guided walk covers our town and its townsfolk one hundred years ago. The history and stories of 1924 are drawn from the Museum archives and copies of the Bexhill Observer held here for that year. How the townsfolk entertained themselves, shopped, played sports and occasionally broke the law… Peggy Goodberry leads this walk around the town, sharing the history of the town – and its many changes in style.
- Meet: Bexhill Museum
- Distance: 3 miles
- Duration: 2.5 hours
- Parking: Take note of specific parking regulations
- Leader: Peggy Goodberry
There is a charge of £5.00 for adults and £2.00 for accompanied children on each walk. We regret that no dogs are allowed on these walks. Local public transport timetables should be consulted regarding availability on the day. The walk leaders are Museum volunteers and all proceeds go to Bexhill Museum.
Due to concerns regarding handling a large audience within the town centre we are operating pre-booking [but paying on the day as usual] to set a limit of 25 people. Where specified please book with the Museum at [email protected] or 01424 222058
