Unseen: The Alex Sanders Archive at Bexhill Museum

The first in a three-part online series of talks hosted by Alexandrian Witchcraft, exploring Bexhill Museum’s archives relating to Alex Sanders, the self-styled “King of the Witches”.

Sanders moved to Bexhill-on-Sea in 1973 to join his Old Town ‘coven’ and remained here until the mid-1980s. Drawing on archive material and contemporary newspapers, the series will explore why he came to Bexhill and the impact his presence had on the local community. It includes photographs and documents that have not previously been seen.

Part One provides the background to the town Sanders encountered, his reception in Bexhill, and a ceremony performed at the coven’s temple in the Old Town.
