Awesome Inkness

5 April @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm

Creative workshop

From Skateboards to Banksy to the DIY style of the 90’s – screenprinting and stencilling techniques have been giving young people a voice and their own aesthetic for decades.

In this free workshop, young people can design and screenprint a t-shirt, from initial pencil design to stencilling, and finally two colour screenprinting using a print carousel.

Come learn about this versatile and iconic medium at Bexhill Museum courtesy of creative company Little Mashers, sharing practical skills, confidence, creativity and well being.

This workshop is facilitated by Bexhill Museum and Hastings Museum & Art Gallery, as part of the Arts Council England supported Museums & Schools Programme.

  • Session 1: 11.00am – 1.00pm for 14 – 16 yrs olds
  • Session 2: 2.00pm – 4.00pm for 16 – 18 yrs olds

Important, please note: Under 16s must have a consent form signed by a parent or guardian in order to take part. You can download the form here. Please print it out and sign it. The signed forms must be brought to the workshop, or signed by the parent or guardian on the day.

Little Mashers facilitate creative workshops with galleries, youth groups, schools and festivals and have worked with many arts organisations including Tate Modern, Turner Contemporary, The Barbican, Hastings Contemporary and the De La Warr. Their workshops share the skills and knowledge of creative processes and a freedom to explore different mediums, to nurture the imagination and create high quality work in a warm, friendly and non-intimidating environment.
