First World War Experience

Laurence served in the Army.  His Medal Record Card shows that he received the War Medal and the Victory Medal, but does not appear to show a 15 star.  It is not sure why this was so as he was commissioned as Lieutenant in December 1914 and was promoted to Captain and Company Commander in August 1915.  It seems surprising that he had not seen action in France by the end of 1915?
