First World War Experience

Leonard, together with his brother, Walter (Bertie), enlisted in Bexhill soon after the declaration of war and served in the army in France.

He was reported wounded on 18.08.1916, and then killed in action on the same day.

Leonard was awarded the 1915 Star, the British War Medal, and the Victory Medal.

 

Additional Information

Leonard was a member of the St. Barnabas’ Company, Church Lads’ Brigade.
