Family Information

Parents:          Levi, born 1844 in Hooe, and Esther (1844-1910).  In 1891 Levi was described as a Farmer but in 1901 as a Groom.  In both decades the family were living in Ninfield, Sussex.

Siblings:         Ernest, born 1872; Neville, born 1874; Alice, born 1880; Kathleen, born 1884.

On 29th November 1915 Horace, known as Albert, married Annie Margaret Hatcher, born 1877.  No record of any children can be found.

After Horace’s death he left £113.2s.5d to Annie Margaret Lemmon, his widow, who was living, at that time, at 6 Vaughan-road, Harrow, Middx

First World War Experience

No trace of Horace’s service records has survived but we know he was killed on Tuesday, 13th November 1917, in a battle that claimed 504 lives.

Horace was awarded the Victory Medal and the British War Medal.
