Parents:          George and Kathleen Langdon.

Siblings:         Ethel, born 1883; Mary, born 1886; George, born 1888.

Both George and Kathleen lived on Private Means.

On his death William left an estate of £2614.10s.8d to his mother, Kathleen Louisa Langdon, widow.

First World War Experience

Unfortunately, William’s service records have not survived so we have no knowledge of exactly when he enlisted (although we do know it was before 15th January 1916) or of his experiences.  He was killed on Saturday, 10th March 1917 and his details at the CWGC are as below:

Eldest son of Kathleen Louisa Langdon of West Lodge, Hastings Road, Bexhill on Sea, and the late George Langdon.  Native of Barnstaple.

Inscription “In Loving Memory of a Son and Brother Laborare Est Orare”.
