Parents: George William Jewhurst, born 1836 in Northiam, Sussex, and Margaret Jewhurst (nee Wood), born 1848 in Newhaven.

Spouse:-

Albert married Florence Louise Birthfield in April 1906 in Eastbourne. They had one daughter, Queenie Joyce Jewhurst in 1911 and she died in 2001. Florence died in 1964 – aged 81.

Albert’s probate dated 20th January 1954 showed that he left a sum of £15,129.7s.7d. – this to his widow and daughter.

First World War Experience

Unfortunately, no record can be found of Albert’s war experiences apart from a small reference in the Bexhill Observer dated 18th December 1915 saying that he had joined up in the Army Reserve. No sign of a service record or medal awards have been found.
