Spouse: In 1907 John married Florence Mary Small (1886-1940) and they had at least one child – John Thomas Seymour Gladwish (1910- ). In 1901 John lived at 22 Broad Oak Lane, Bexhill, but by 1911 had moved to 88 Windsor Road – re-locating in 1914 to number 98.

First World War Experience

We know very little about John’s war service. He had joined the Reserves by 18th December 1915 and served with the Army Veterinary Corps as an Acting Sergeant.

John was awarded both the Victory Medal and the British War Medal.
