Family Information

Parents:          Isaac and Elizabeth Gingell.  Isaac was a baker as was James’ brother, William

Spouse:          Hannah Mary Gingell, nee Earwood, (b1884). Hannah and James had one child, James, born in 1908.  In 1911 the family lived at 39 Chandler Road but by James’ enlistment date had moved to No. 36.

First World War Experience

James enlisted on 17th May 1915 and fought in France.  Unfortunately, his service records have not survived but we do know that he received the Victory Medal, the British War Medal, and the 15 Star.
