Family Information

Parents:          Rev. Thomas William Gibson (b1853) and Frances Georgina Gibson (1851-1934), nee Currey

Siblings:         Andrew Gibson (1896-1971).

The Rev. Thomas Gibson was the vicar of St. Sepulchre Church in Hampstead and he baptized Robert there on 25th March 1895.

In 1901 Robert was a pupil at the Great Slaugham School, Dorset Road, Bexhill on Sea, and in 1911 was studying at Winchester College.  At the time of his death his home address was Cranham Rectory, Upminster, and he left an estate of £1383.18s.8d to his father, Rev. Thomas William Gibson.

First World War Experience

Robert enlisted on 20th May 1915 and just over a year later he was killed in action in France on 11th July 1916.  He was awarded the Victory Medal, the British War Medal, and the 15 Star.
