Siblings:         Clara Kate (1895-1980).

First World War Experience

Nothing apart from his Medal Rolls has survived and this shows that William was awarded the Victory Medal and the British War Medal.  In a local newspaper dated 1st June 1918 he was listed as missing and his address as Bexhill but no trace of him can be found in the 1911 census.  It may be that he had emigrated to Canada but came back to enlist during the war years – going back to Canada afterwards.  He was probably lodging in Bexhill – hence the mention in the newspaper.
