Family Information

Parents:          William (1829-1906) and Harriett, nee Ashdown, (1846-1914). 

Siblings:         Albert Edward (1877-1915),  Lucy (1880-); Charles (1882-1973); Edith (1885-); Alice (1887-); Lizzie (1890-).

Drew married Nancy F. Stevens on 7th May 1898 in Bexhill.  They had one child, a daughter, Dorothy May who was born in 1901 in Bexhill.  Drew worked as a driver for F. W. Parker, of 4 Victoria Road, Bexhill on Sea.

First World War Experience

Drew enlisted on 8th August 1918 when he was 44 years and 2 months old. He joined the Army Service Corps as a driver.  He was 5’ 2”, weighed 112lbs, and had a chest measurement of 34” – expansion 2½”. He had a fresh complexion, brown eyes, brown hair, and had a good physical development. His vision was given as 6/9 in both eyes and he had two vaccination marks on his left arm.  He was a member of the Church of England.

Drew was demobbed on 2nd March 1919 but no record can be found of any medals being awarded.
