Parents:          Tom H. Drakely (1851-1923) and Harriet Sarah Drakely, nee Hill (1853-1941).

Siblings:

William Thomas Drakely (1881-1971).

Josiah Jones Drakely (1882-1956).

In a local newspaper dated 22nd January 1916 a photograph appears of Denis and his address is given there as London House, Windsor-road.

Denis married Florence Edith Whittaker (1890-1980) on 4th October 1924 in Elham, Kent. They had at least one child – a son, Maurice Peter Drakely.

First World War Experience

As Denis’ service records have not survived we know nothing about his war experiences apart from the fact that he was sent to serve in France on 31st May 1915. 

He was awarded the Victory Medal, the British War Medal, and the 15 Star.
