Help Santa find gifts for his elves this weekend

Children have their final chance to help Santa find presents for his elves this weekend.

The children’s trail in Bexhill Museum will end this weekend (18-19 December) when the museum closes for a few days. They can give Santa a hand by spotting what each elf has asked for. They then get to choose a prize at the end from the table of goodies.

The museum will close at 4pm on Sunday (19 Dec) but will reopen on Boxing Day until Monday 3 January. Hours will be 11am to 4pm, including the two Mondays when the museum would normally be closed. It will close for its new year break from 4 January.

That’s when the museum crew will be busy changing exhibits, cleaning and getting the place ready for the new season. It will open again on Tuesday 25 January.

The Six Minutes to Midnight film exhibition will be moved and be reduced in size for the new season so if you want to see it in its current form this will be your last chance.

Admission charges are £3 for adults, £2.50 concessions, £1.50 children 5-16 and under 5s are free. The children’s trail is included in the admission price.

The museum, in Egerton Road, has four galleries featuring natural history, Bexhill’s motoring heritage, 300 years of costume, old toys and household items and two model train layouts – Eddie Izzard’s childhood train set and the Winter Wartime model depicting Bexhill in 1940 when the town was under snow.
