Tutankhamun – a talk by Ken Brooks
8 June @ 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm
The discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun is acknowledged as one of the greatest events in the history of archaeology. On a remarkable day in November 1922 Howard Carter looked into the tomb’s antechamber and saw “Wonderful things. Everywhere the glint of gold!” Popular local historian Ken Brooks will help us follow in Carter’s footsteps and reconstruct his experience with contemporary photographs.
Tickets are £10 (£8 for museum members) and must be booked in advance in person at the museum in advance, or reserved by calling the museum on 01424 222058.
