SUMMARY:Stepping Out to Bexhill 1926
DESCRIPTION:The final walk of the summer season is around the town centre and will look at events in the town of exactly a century ago.\nThe walk complements the first talk of the museum’s lecture series in October but it is not the same. The talk ranges further afield while the walk concentrates on what can be seen in the town centre. Attend both for the full picture.\nBexhill 1926 takes place on Sunday 13 September at 2pm. You must register your name beforehand as places are limited. Phone (01424 222058)\, call in or email info@bexhillmuseum.org.uk to reserve your place.\nMeet at the museum where you can pay the £5 fee at the front desk. We are sorry\, but dogs are not allowed on the walk.

SUMMARY:Rameses II & the Reconstruction of Abu Simbel
DESCRIPTION:The last of this year’s Ken Brooks lectures sees him return to Ancient Egypt themes.\nHe will begin by looking at the life of the Pharaoh Rameses II. During his long reign he did everything on a grand scale\, whether it was building impressive temples and statues or producing many children.\nThe second part of the presentation will feature the reconstruction of his temple at Abu Simbel. This was moved from its original site in 1968 to make way for the creation of Lake Nasser.\nSome of the ancient Egyptian artefacts in the museum will also be discussed.\nAdmission to the museum is included in the talk cost of £10 (£8 for museum members). Refreshments are included. Phone (01424 222058)\, call in or email info@bexhillmuseum.org.uk to reserve your place.
