The end of a bronze and wooden scabbard, it was once used to cover and protect an #IronAge sword. It was found near Talgarth in Powys.

In celebration of #NationalDoodleDay we're sharing a few sketches from the Wartime Log of Donald Henry Bowra, a young stoker on Chatham-built #HMSubmarineStarfish.
He kept this log in PoW Stalag IX-c camp in Germany, after the submarine was attacked and the crew were captured.
